In our work in the Budimex Hospital daily, we came in contact with the children suffering from various serious diseases, most of these children come from the country and look very poor.

Visiting their homes, we were quite shocked by the unbelievable conditions in which they lived.

In one instance we found eight children with their mother and father in one room.

Another family were given two rooms by a farmer who expected them to look after his sheep. The family lived in one room, the pigs in the other.

A family of a widowed mother and five children were waiting for the farmer to put them out of their one room on his farm. utter destitution.

Seeing these and many other cases, we decided to open a new door in our project “Houses in the country for destitute families”.

We still have the advantage that houses and land in Romania are cheap so we had the joy of offering a house, and a piece of land to families in such conditions.

These houses are attractive and spacious with all facilities electricity, water and a piece of land to cultivate. We can never forget the joy seen on the faces of these families and how much their lives have changed. So far (Nov. 2003) we have provided seven houses in the country.
